Monthly Guide · Updated July 2026 · by Casa Living Bali

Every month in Bali is somebody's favourite. Here's what April actually delivers — the weather numbers, the crowd reality, what it costs and what's on — so you can decide if it's yours.

The numbers for April

At a glance: rainfall ~90mm over roughly 8–10 rain-days · air 26–31°C · humidity easing · sea 28°C · crowds: moderate — easter bump, then calm · pricing: shoulder — excellent value.

What April feels like

April is the hinge of the Balinese year: the monsoon signs off, humidity drops week by week, and the island keeps its wet-season green while delivering dry-season days. Locals will tell you April and May are the secret months — you get September's weather with fresher landscapes and better prices.

What's on

Easter week brings a short family-travel bump (book villas a few weeks ahead if your dates overlap), and the ceremony calendar rolls on — April often catches an odalan festival at one of the coast temples near Seseh, processions to the sea included.

Surf in April

The west coast wakes up: Seseh, Munggu and the Bukit's reef breaks start receiving the consistent southern-hemisphere swells that define the dry season, without dry-season line-ups. Arguably the best surf-to-crowd ratio of the year.

The verdict

Come in April for dry days, green fields and shoulder pricing — one of the two or three smartest months on the calendar. Almost nobody should skip April.
