What October feels like
October is the dry season's gentle exit: mostly sunny weeks, warmth creeping back up, and the first proper rains arriving late in the month like a rumour. Crowds are gone, sunsets get more dramatic as clouds return to the sky, and the island runs at its most relaxed — a favourite month for honeymooners and long-stayers doing their sums.
What's on
Usually free of major holidays, October occasionally hosts Galungan (rotating calendar) — penjor-lined lanes and ceremony days around the villages. Restaurants and drivers are easy; villa availability opens right up outside a few school-holiday blips.
Surf in October
Surf stays surprisingly good: swell persists early in the month, winds loosen but mornings still deliver, and warm-water line-ups are the emptiest since April. The Seseh–Munggu beach breaks are ideal improver territory in October.

Come in October for a relaxed, well-priced dry-season finale with dramatic skies. Skip it only if you need bone-dry certainty for every single day.
