Stocking a villa kitchen on the quiet coast — minimarts, real supermarkets, markets and delivery apps.

Practical · Updated July 2026 · by Casa Living Bali

A villa kitchen is only as good as its supply lines. Seseh's are better than its village looks suggest: minimarts in the lanes, serious supermarkets fifteen minutes away, and two apps that deliver almost anything to the gate.

The supply map

In and around the village: minimarts for water, Bintang, snacks and sunscreen. Ten to fifteen minutes toward Pererenan and Canggu, the real weekly shop: Pepito and similar full supermarkets stock imported cheese, decent wine, proper meat and everything a self-catering week needs. Between them, local morning markets (go before 9am) sell fruit, vegetables and fish at prices that make the supermarket blush.

Delivery does the rest

GrabMart/GoMart deliver supermarket runs to the villa in under an hour; both super-apps also carry restaurant delivery from Pererenan's kitchens. For big pre-arrival stocking, easier still: send the villa a list. Casa Infinity Seseh pre-stocks kitchens for arrival — coffee, breakfast, water and the wine already cold.

What to buy where

Markets for tropical fruit, herbs and morning-boat fish; Pepito-class stores for imports, dairy and wine (taxed — budget accordingly at ~2–3× home prices); minimarts for the daily top-ups. Drinking water comes in refillable gallons every villa is set up for — never buy small bottles by the dozen.

Self-catering strategy

The rhythm that works: pre-stocked arrival, one big supermarket run early, market fruit every few days, and the villa chef option (how that works) for the nights cooking loses the vote. A 3BR villa's kitchen and a $60 supermarket run replace a shocking number of restaurant bills.
